The active substance in Cerenia is Maropitant. This drug prevents vomiting. It is the first licensed drug in the treatment of motion sickness. The tablets work for at least 12 hours so can be given the night before early morning travel. They are best given after a light meal.
In the current state of knowledge they should not be used in dogs under 16 weeks of age.
