Trade name for Carbimazole – interferes with the production of thyroid hormones. It is used to control excessive levels of T3 and T4 in feline hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid).
There are some adverse reactions reported – vomiting, rashes and intense irritation, anorexia, jaundice, changes in blood picture but these are rare. It is a useful drug for this distressing disease.
