A broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. This is a marvellous antibiotic against the types of staphylococcal and streptococcal infections that we get in skin cases. We use it extensively treating skin disease.
Its use may cause vomiting, and it is probably best given with food. It is also quite expensive but it is so likely to work on skin infections we reach for it first in many cases and so in the long run saves money.
